Roman Catholic
Mercedarian
priest and martyr.
Thomas O'Loughlin
says Serapion was Scottish by birth.
Serapion is acknowledged as a
proto-martyr
. He was the first of his Order to merit the palm of martyrdom by being crucified and cut to pieces
